Research that doesn't end with a publication.
NU3Gen's projects connect genetics, food, consumers, bioeconomy and digital technology to create usable results.
Project timeline
APVV: genetic factors in perception, personalised food safety and applied outputs.
Possibilities of genetic testing in identifying sporting talent.
1st place in the EIT Food RIS Innovation Prize in Slovakia.
Engaging seniors in the co-creation of a food product.
Automation, digitalisation and scalable production of alternative protein.
OpenProduct
OpenProduct linked a DNA profile with data on food origin and represented a concept for digital traceability. In 2019 the project was part of the award-winning NU3GEN FOOD concept. On the new site it is deliberately presented as a technology reference / case study, not as an actively available product.
Eurospotrebitelia & co-creation
The Eurospotrebitelia civic association focused on protecting and informing consumers, education activities, market and product analyses, and questions of food quality and safety. It organised expert conferences and, in 2020, ran Slovakia's participation in the EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Labs, where seniors took part in creating a new food product.
Insect Protein 4.0
Project 09I02-03-V03-00192 is working toward an automated system for rearing and producing alternative protein. The concept covers automated feeding, watering and ventilation, scaling, 3D-printed components, and data collection on welfare, nutrition and environmental impact.
Education & mentoring
Our education activities grew out of teaching nutrigenomics and biological analysis, consumer seminars, and mentoring researchers and early-stage entrepreneurs. The new site brings them together under a single know-how transfer service.
