01 / Genetics

Genetics from the individual to the population.

We apply molecular and population genetics to questions of personalisation, relatedness, identification, biodiversity and the origin of biological samples.

Human genetics

NU3Gen grew out of work in nutrigenomics, perceptual genetics and personalised genetic interpretation. The consumer DNA-testing line (nutrigenomics and sport genetics), previously available at nu3gen.eu, continues as a separate product under the Genotyp brand — NU3Gen's research arm continues to focus on genomic data, relatedness and experimental questions.

NutrigenomicsGenetic factors
Sport geneticsResearch into genetic factors linked to sporting potential.
IBD & relatednessSegment-based genomic analyses and interpretation of kinship relationships.
Perceptual geneticsResearch into genetic differences in perception and their relationship to food.

Animal genetics

We use genetic methods to identify individuals and species, verify origin and relatedness, and support genomic research in animals.

Species identificationIdentification of a biological sample and species verification.
Parentage & identityGenetic profiles, relatedness and individual identity.
Genomic projectsSupport for sequencing and population-genetics projects.
Breeding dataAnalytical support for breeding and biodiversity projects.

Biodiversity

The team's publications and projects cover the genetic diversity of dogs, deer, chamois, cattle and other populations. The results support research, biodiversity conservation and practical breeding management.

Forensic & expert services

Legally admissible expert work and forensic analyses are kept separate from the NU3Gen innovation brand and are provided by the Centre for Forensic Expertise — CEFEX.
